GK to Tommy Mon Jan. 24, 2009

Tommy Mon...Chill dude! Get the hell out of town and go to Costa Rica!!! If you see Jacket wandering around down there let Jazz and me know. For cryin’ out loud, here Jacket has disappeared on my watch and all he can think about is a damn Christmas Card... Way to much time on his hands!

Tommy Mon to Jazz & GK Jan. 24, 2009

What the hell are you guys talking about, I didn’t receive any f-ing emails, text messages or even a damn Christmas card! Is the website up yet?

Well?  How everything go?  As Chasteen would say:  “Everything Good?”  I hope everyone survived and had a safe, fun holidays and has a couple weeks to catch their breath from the many raucous festivities.

Speaking of Raucous Festivities, I got a text message from Jacket (I didn’t know he had a cell phone?  I’m slowly mastering this new communicating tool, “texting”.  It’s often the only way I can communicate with my 14 and 16 year old kids!  I don’t know many of the short-cuts, acronyms or abbreviations, but I get by).

Anyway, I get this text form Jacket informing me that things looked very good for him going to D.C. for The Raucous Festivity of the century:  The Inauguration!!  Did he go?  That 2-faced plaid sob.  He was so conservative during the year he spent with me.  And to think he’s now a wanton liberal.  Oh, sorry, you’re from Minnesota, eh der?  Did you go too??  Must have been something!  All those parties paid for with the hard-working conservative tax-payers, all the ribs, chicken and watermelon!  How amazing it must be to spend other peoples money on such high times!  I understand  O’Bama is replacing the bowling alley in the White House with both a Wendy’s and a KFC!

Well Bob, congratulations on your honors. It is obviously the power of the JACKET Influence!

JACKET has found his new home to be open and comfortable and is looking forward to the Holidays. Thanks to our various family members, JACKET has numerous other events to which he is looking forward.

One event in particular has him most excited. Adam, our Rock Star son, has enthusiastically offered JACKET stage time while on tour. JACKET tells Mary Ann and me it’s the back stage events he is most excited about!

JACKET also feels he can be helpful in my oldest son, Andy, and our daughter-in-law, Vicky’s, quest to make us Grandparents one more time. We both know JACKET’s power but I wonder if it could work?

Thanks to Adam, JACKET has found a new buddy, PANTS. JACKET and PANTS have spent endless hours at the local sports bar watching all their favorite sporting events especially the World Series play offs. They even took in a Cubs game at Wrigley and a Sox game at the Cell. But as the season progressed, PANTS being the typical south-sider and JACKET being the died in the wool north-sider, a riff began to develop. As the pressure of a possible Red Line World Series began to heighten so did their disagreement. They haven’t seen much of each other lately. Our daughter, Jenny, in an attempt to bring them back together has offered them both a spot in a local Marathon in Chicago.

Bob, There is one additional concern that Mary Ann and I have. I would like to know if you, while in JACKET’s company, noticed any strange comings and goings?  At first we thought it was just the relationship with Pants but it has continued since their parting. Do you think it could have something to do with his Influence?

I am actually writing to check up on Jacket.  As a former recipient of that fine weave of cloth, I take a personal interest in its care and lifestyle.  The holidays are coming up and make for a fine time for Jacket to join in the family and business joy & fun. Take care and enjoy this special time with your new friend
